Seasonal Promotional Items - Think Beyond the Holidays

One of the easiest ways to come up with new promotions for your business or organisation is to time your promotional items and business gifts with the seasons. Holidays are always good times for launching promotions, but there's more to the season than special occasions. If you pick promotional items that appeal to people during specific times of the year, you'll find that you get a much higher response rate than if you just send out generic promo gifts. Here are some ideas for taking advantage of specific seasons with your promotions. New Years Promotions  Everyone is turning over a new leaf after the holidays - a new leaf on the calendar that is. Calendars are one of the best promotional items for the turn of the year - but bear in mind that you won't be the only one sending imprinted calendars to your customers in December. Make them stand out by choosing unique calendars, or by taking the idea a step further. You might choose Year-at-a-glance planners, or promotional desk blotter appointment calendars, for instance. Spring Break  Spring break, and the schools are on holiday? Cater to the fun spirit with "fun" promotional items that will appeal to the desire of people to cast off the winter and enjoy the newly bright springtime weather. Think outside the box - a bank might hand out packets of seeds imprinted with the message "Your savings will grow with us", for example. Holiday Travel  What appeals to people in the summe    ...

Which City is the Financial Center in China?

There is a long time debate in China about the following question: Which city is the financial center in China? If you raised this question 10 years ago, the answer is definitely Hong Kong, but now Shanghai is catching up really fast, and Shenzhen, a city near Hong Kong, is grabbing more attention. Shanghai used to be the financial center of China for a long time. When I travelled to Shanghai I heard quite a lot people talking about the old Shanghai, they said the city used to be called the Eastern Paris in the early 20th century. That city became history when the Communist took power and shut down all stock activities. The old stock dealers were worried about their asset being captured by the government, they chose to leave Shanghai to Taiwan or to Hong Kong, which made this small city full of financial talent. Due to the immigrants coming to Hong Kong, the city developed really fast after the second world war, and made it become a amazing miracle in the far east area. Shenzhen is a city just north of Hong Kong, when China decided to open up in the late 1970s, it chose this place as the special economic zone. In just 30 years, the population of Shenzhen has grown from less than 5000 to over 14 million people. It has a stock exchange market in the early 1990s, and recently opened up the Chinese "NASDAQ", a stock market for small and medium sized company trading in public. So far as I am concerned    ...

Doing Business in Guangzhou China - Things You Should Know

Guangzhou is China's third largest city; it sits in Guangdong province and is only a two hour train journey from Hong Kong. It's also less than an hour away from Shenzhen and thus offers convenient access to most of the manufacturing heart of the mainland. It is officially a "mega city" with a population in excess of 10 million people, making it more populous than quite a few countries and it can take a while to get used to the size and sprawl of the city. Guangzhou is extremely popular for foreign companies looking to get a hold in South China, it's location is extremely useful as a transport hub and it can be more cost effective than opening a base in nearby Shenzhen which is closer to Hong Kong and thus is more expensive for property as it serves as an overflow to the island's Special Economic Zone status. Setting Up a Business As with all cities in China there are only three vehicles for a foreign company looking to open an office in the city. You can open a representative office, a Wholly owned Foreign Enterprise (WoFE) or a joint venture. It makes sense to take local legal advice before choosing your set up, representative offices can be very limited in their sphere of operations, WoFE's are ineligible for certain industry subsidies and joint ventures require a lot of planning and patience. Language Cantonese is the language of Southern China and in Guangzhou the most commonly s    ...

Wholesale Computer Hardware - How to Find a Reliable Computer Parts Wholesaler

With the prices of high quality computer hardware rising, consumers and businesses are seeking wholesale computer hardware at the lowest possible price. In today's world, wholesalers for computer equipment are very difficult to find. The internet could be utilized to find the best prices for computer related items. Since the internet is filled with websites offering wholesale equipment, choosing the right wholesale computer hardware supplier may be difficult. The reputation of the seller should be taken into consideration, there are many sites that prioritize making money and do not offer proper customer service. Wholesale computer hardware sources for the business Individuals who sell on auction sites must have a wholesale supplier. Who is their supplier and where are the suppliers located? During a search for wholesale computer hardware I came across a site that offers wholesale prices for products. The site could act as a wholesale hub for products to be purchased at low wholesale prices to fill orders on auction sites like eBay. This is also a very good source for building a website of your own and selling computer hardware to make a profit. Why buy wholesale from Salehoo.com? Their store is filled with merchandise from reliable wholesale sources that will drop ship to your customer, manufacturers, and wholesalers to find what you need at lower prices. How To Get A Chinese Visa in Hong Kong

It came to my attention recently that a few travellers have had problems and issues getting visas for China. Everyone wants to visit the world's most populated country so I'm here with my latest visa advice for China!! I'm heading to China again soon for my 6th visit and I want to explain an easy and simple way for you travellers to get your China Visa - it's easy! All you need to do is... get yourself to HONG KONG! In terms of defining a country, as far as I'm concerned Hong Kong is one. It has its own currency, flag, visa regulations and national football team. It was also British for a while, and that ended back in 1997. These days, lots of nationalities can get to Hong Kong without a Visa. You will get a stamp on arrival at the airport. If you arrive on a UK passport you can stay for 180 days no problem! A lot of nationalities also get a 90 day entry stamp - check with your embassy. Hong Kong borders China, and there are about 5-6 different border entry points. I have passed through 4 of them in the last 12 months. But before you get there you will need a valid China Visa, unless you are Chinese or a nationality that doesn't require one (possibly Cuba or other 'Communist' countries - check with your embassy). There are literally hundreds of places in Hong Kong to get a China Visa and as far as I can tell, being in Hong Kong is by far and away the easiest and best way to get your visa for China, outs    ...
